September Pics

I try to put up some of my favorite pictures of the twins each month. I know I have not done so in a few months so now, I'm going to catch up. Here are some of my favorite pictures of the twins from September that I have not previously shared.
I love Caroline's Aggie outfit.
My favorite part is the "Aggies" on her bottom.
Caden has some nice Aggie clothes as well.
Now, Caroline is typically pretty clean eater. That was not the case in this picture.I love this picture of the twins looking outside. They started looking out the windows a lot when I was working on the swingset. They get very excited anytime they see me outside.

Caroline Blogging

Our kids love the computer. Caroline especially loves to be on my lap when I'm at the computer. She likes typing on the keyboard, playing with the mouse, and touching the screen. Here is Caroline writing a blog entry.

A Few Quick Videos

Here are a few videos that I took right around Christmas.

Here is Caroline practicing her walking. Caroline became a full fledged walker not long after this video was taken. She now uses walking as her main mode of transportation.


The twins love playing in our driveway. We have a great drive way for that. It is large and enclosed on all sides other than the entrance.


One of my favorite games to play with Caroline is saying, "I'm gonna get you," when she is crawling or walking somewhere. Caroline gets very excited when I do this and typically starts laughing and speeds up to go as fast as she can. Then, when I get really close and she does not think she can get away, she typically falls to the ground laughing and waits for me to tackle her.

Caroline is So Smart

Both of our kids are getting so smart but I have a couple stories about Caroline.

Story 1:

Yesterday, Amy gave Caroline a new toy. It was a dog beanie baby that Amy used to keep on her desk at Dell. Both our kids are currently obsessed with dogs so Amy thought they would like it.

When I got home from work, I was getting dinner ready in the kitchen and Amy was playing with the twins in the family room. I heard Amy say, "Caroline, go show Daddy your new doggy. I think it is in the play room." That was everything Amy said.

Less than one minute later, Caroline came walking into the kitchen with the beanie baby dog in her hands with a giant smile on her face. She brought it right over and handed it to me. (Of course, she wanted it back after just a couple seconds.)

I think that is so smart for such a little girl. She knew exactly what Amy told her, walked all the way across the house to find the new toy in a mess of toys, and then brought it directly to me.

Story 2:

One of Caroline's favorite things to do is point out body parts. You can tell her a body part and a person and Caroline will walk right over to that person and touch the requested body part. Her favorites are nose and tummy.

Embarrassingly, Caroline also really likes pointing out something on Caden that she is missing. :) She is always very excited when Caden gets a diaper change on the floor. Caroline will hover over him with her pointing finger sticking straight up ready to go. When diaper change is over, Caroline often looks all over for her's.

I can't wait to see what Caroline will come up with next.

New Years Eve at the Salt Lick

On New Years Eve, Amy and I thought it would be fun to take the kids and get some BBQ at the Salt Lick in Round Rock.

I ordered a sampler plate with brisket, sausage, and pork ribs. To Amy's dismay, I offered Caroline some of my pork ribs...and she LOVED them!
Caden was not sure what to think of the ribs. He tried them but did not seem to like the ribs as much as Caroline. I like this picture has Caroline pouting in the background because she wanted more ribs.
Okay, Caroline...you can have some more.
For the rest of the meal, Caroline kept wanting to eat ribs. She was even able to bite down and get some meat off the bone.

After getting home from the Salk Lick, the kids went right to bed. Soon after Amy also hit the sack. I stayed up to midnight and rang in the new year by myself. :) Ah, to be married with two little kids.

One More Christmas Post

I've talked before about how both kids liked climbing on top of on presents. When I divided the presents based on what was going where, I made a big stack in the middle of the room. Well, look what Caroline did with that stack!
Amy and I couldn't believe she climbed to the top all by herself in just a matter of seconds. She wanted to stand up on the top present but Amy would not have any of that and she put Caroline back on the ground.
Seconds later, Caroline started her climb back to the top.
Both of our kids are climbers. I think they get it from me.

I have one more quick story about climbing. Today, Amy took the twins to Chick-Fil-A and let them play in the indoor play area. Amazingly, Caden climbed all the way to the top of the large playscape designed for kids several years older. Amy was worried he would get stuck at the top and she should need to go in after him but he made it down safely. I was disappointed that Amy did not have a camera with her to capture Caden's adventure.

The Swingset if Finally Finished

After taking a couple months off but I finally spent the time to complete the swingset and can now cross this project off my list. When the kids get older, I'll add a tire swing below the tower, replace the baby swings, and add a two person swing in the third position. But for now, the swing set is done.

Most of the swingset was done for the twins first birthday party but there were a few things I needed to do like build a ladder on the back side, a rope ladder, the bars to keep kids from falling out of the tower, and a few stabilizers.

Over Christmas, the Baker kids came over to break in the completed swingset. Here is big Cal climbing up the rock wall. He was a little scared but he made it to the top several times.
Will also made it up the rock wall.
Will then showed off his speed by running across our yard.
Ella was an expert at the rope ladder. Her brothers could not make it as high.

Big will did not want to go any higher than he is right now.

Ella was all over the place on the swingset. It is nice to see that our twins will enjoy it for many years.
Ella was really good on the rock wall. She showed off how she could go up it using the rope and none of the rocks or vice versa by using the rocks and not the rope.
I look forward to my kids being able to play on the swingset like their older cousins.
