For their third birthday party, we went with a super hero theme. Here is the party invitation featuring Super Caden and Super Caroline.
We celebrated at the Hoppin' House. The kids love it there and it is a great place for a super hero party.
Amy decided to make a couple cakes for Caden and Caroline. The logo on the top of their cake matches the logo on the back of their capes. That is Caroline's finger in the photo. She could no longer wait and needed to taste the cake. I explained how mommy worked hard and wouldn't appreciate a finger print in the top of the cake. I then explained that she could put her finger into the red frosting at the bottom of the cake without mommy ever knowing.
I convinced Amy to make chocolate cupcakes to go along with the vanilla ones. They were both delicious, but it is hard to beat some good chocolate frosting.
Notice the capes and masks on the blow pops?
Our kids favorite part of the Hoppin' House is the red foam block pit. It is about three feet deep and full of red foam blocks. The kids love it!
There are also a ton of inflatable slides for the kids to play on.
After some playing, we decided to eat a little. Here is our three year old being silly.
After a light lunch, we brought out the cake.
This was the first time ever we let the kids blow out candles. It took them a few puffs, but they both figured it out. The week that followed, we sung Happy Birthday at least a dozen times where the kids blew out candles each time. They got very good at it.
We decided to give Caden and Caroline cupcakes like everyone else. We saved the larger cakes for later and let Caroline devour a chocolate cupcake while Caden ate the icing off his vanilla cupcake.
Amy and I made capes for each child in attendance as party favors. I designed and cut all the material while Amy did all the sewing. We were very happy how the capes turned out. The weeks before the party, Caden and Caroline ran all around the house wearing there capes.
Here are all the capes we made.
We made three different size capes -- 3 year old, 1 year old, and 6 month old. Each cape had the child's first initial.
Here are the kids (and one adult) sporting capes. Braden turned his around backwards for a picture. He knew it wasn't a giant bib. :) My Favorite cape of the bunch is probably Super George's cape.
Here is the closest thing we got to a group kid picture. I think we are only missing three or four kids.
I love this picture with the kids facing the other way. These were the only ones who were interested in participating after the first group picture.
The super cousins.
My little boy getting so big.
I cannot believe they are three.
We had a ton of fun at the kids party. Their next birthday will be here before I know it. And in case you are wondering, Caden and Caroline will be turning THREE next year!
