This year, the rotation put Christmas in Dallas. We did all sorts of fun stuff while in Dallas.
Grandma had the twins help her out a lot in the kitchen. Caden and Caroline love helping in the kitchen.
Caroline was very proud of the fruit skewers they made. And of course, there were some presents. We opened them up with Grandma, Aunt Angela, and Uncle Allen on Christmas Eve.
This is a steering wheel for the swing set. They were very excited.
This is Caden opening up a shirt with a guitar on it. Amazingly, he was very excited to receive this gift. He actually attempted to take his shirt off so he could put the guitar on. :)
If he was that excited to see a guitar on his shirt, imagine how excited he was to get this guitar. We had borrowed a miniture acoustic guitar and Caden loved it. We made sure he'd get one for Christmas before we returned the other guitar.Caden thanking Grandma for his guitar.Caden played the guitar while we opened the rest of the presents. You can really see him strumming and singing in this picture.
One of my big gifts is the quilt we are sitting on. My mom made it for me out of my old Appalachia Service Project (ASP) t-shirts. I went on an ASP mission trip for a week every summer for ten years. Maybe I'll get to take Caden and Caroline some day.
Here is Caden wearing his new guitar shirt.
On Christmas Day, we headed over to Grandpa and Mimi's house. Here is a picture of Grandpa showing off his new player piano to Caden. Caden thought it was very cool.
And of course, there were more presents.
Grandma had one more thing she wanted to make with the twins. She wanted to make Christmas tree cookies where the trees were made out of rice crispy treats made with Cheerios instead of rice crispies. Caden was very helpful pouring the ingredients into the bowl.
Caroline did not want to wear the apron my mom made for her but Caden was happy to do so. :) Don't worry Grandma, Caroline has enjoyed the apron at home. After forming the trees, it was time to decorate. This was by far Caroline's favorite part.
Caden preferred to undecorate the trees and feed the pieces to everyone around him.
The finished products looked pretty good.
We had a lot of fun in Dallas over Christmas but it was time to head back to Austin and celebrate Christmas with the Bakers.
