Six Flags Fiesta Texas

A couple months ago, the annual NI picnic took place in Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. We decided to pack up the family and head south for our first trip to an amusement park with the kids. We actually went down the night before and stayed with some friends. That allowed us to get to the park bright and early without being rushed.

This was our twins first trip to an amusement park. Amy and I were very excited. Since NI rented out the entire park, the lines would be very minimal. (Not that Amy and I would be able to go on any of the rides we'd like.)
Caden was ready to go play while Caroline was still getting sunblock applied.
The twins first ride ever was the tea cups. Caroline rode with me.
And Caden rode with Amy. Caden definitely enjoyed it more than Caroline (which is not surprising since he has no fear).
We then went to drive some cars. Sadly, the kids were not allowed to drive but they still had fun. Here is Caroline with Amy. Caroline could barely see over the edge in her pink car.
The twins were allowed to drive on this ride. Well, at least they thought they were because everyone had a steering wheel.
A family photo.
I took the kids on a ride that spun around and went into the air about 15-20 feet. When we climbed into the large strawberry, I told the kids to hold onto the pole in the middle for safety.
Cautious Caroline obeyed and never let go. She clung to that pole with a two hand death grip...especially when we were in the air.
Caden, on the other hand, did not care about holding onto the pole for long. He needed both hands free to completely enjoy the ride. As we were spinning in the air, Caden was putting his face right up to the edge so he could get a better view. He kept telling me how high we were.
After some fun playing in the park, we went to get a picnic lunch. I think Caden was trying to look at Scoobie Doo walking around.
The last thing we wanted to do before leaving was ride the train. The twins had waved at the train numerous times that day and were very excited to get to ride it. Here are our train pictures.
We made a quick stop in the gift shop to buy a souvenir magnet. The kids thought the stuffed animals were really cool, especially this giant Bugs Bunny.
One last photo before we left the park.
Our kids were exhausted by the time we got in the car and were ready for a nap. These pictures were taken before we pulled out of our parking spot. Both kids were sleeping before we exited the parking lot.
We had a ton of fun and hope the NI company picnic is at Six Flags next year as well.
